A new VA release carrying a meaningful message has just arrived on Psyland. Garyfallia VA is Out Now by Underground Experience!

Nine tracks, dedicated to unity, gender equality, and all the victims of sexism and gender-based crimes. The compilation title is dedicated to the memory of Garyfallia, a girl who lost her life in one of the many gender hate crimes committed in Greece in the last two years.

Patriarchy, sexism, and violence against women were always common problems in Greece. They were usually covered up or even promoted by some mass media and governments through stereotypes, and sometimes “accepted” or ignored by many people. However, in latest years, the vast reactions against this rusty logic, and exposure of sexism crimes created through social media have forced governments and media to publicly criticize it.

Nowadays in Greece, gender equality is finally a “common-sense feature” of society, and sexism is criticized by the vast majority of the population. However, a lot of progress has yet to be done to clean up the debris left behind by our older society’s ethics, and eradicate any form of violence between people.

To Garyfallia

“In the beginning was savagery. Then, “Great Goddess”, “Mother Goddess”,”Mother” appeared.
The universe in three dimensions : fertility, death, renaissance.

A natural evolution, consequence of mother instinct,
was artificially replaced by “The principle of fatherhood”, as a financial reformation.

From gynoecocracy to femicide.
A patriarchical structured allegedly civilised society
creates and maintains a vicious circle,
from violence to psychopathy
from psychopathy to agressiveness
from aggressiveness to devastation.

A sick system that chokes woman nature, daily, controlling and acting violently, victimizing the “weak” gender.

Patriarchy defines value by murdering people.

Not one women less.
Not one more dead.”

The above poem aims at acting collectively and organized against women abuse,
in order to review the self-evident values that have deteriorated through time.
It is dedicated to the music collection “Garyfallia”.
