Psymbosium Festival 2022
Written by Psyland on August 6, 2022
Hello Psychedelic Lovers!
One more beautiful gathering has been completed on the mount of the gods Olympus. We would love to share with you our impressions from Psymbosium Festival 2022, and enjoy some lovely photos from the stage and the festival area offered by some crazy psylovers.
Held at a high plateau near the village Karya, with a magnificent view of the mountain peaks of Olympus, Psymbosium Festival offered us tons of psychedelic music, joy, social interaction, and some top experiences for the 3rd consecutive year!
This time even more organized, offering delightful music, more places for nice chillout and communication, more top food choices, and more psychedelic shops. Psymbosium seems to create a nice psychedelic community where people can dance, have fun, and interact with each other freely, untouched by the social stereotypes of our world.
The Main & Alternative Stage
The festival line-up was really worthy with top artists from Greece and all over the world, enjoying their live set and giving their psychedelic vibes to the crazy dancing psylovers. An impressive wooden hawk sculpture (by Janis Worldbriger) was decorating the stage and was coming alive every night through video mapping (by Adistu) offering a nice visual experience to the dancefloor. Usually at midnight, some juggling and fire shows were adding their vibes to the stage.
As in last year’s Psymbosium, there was an alternative stage transmitting some psychill and dub vibes. There you could dance to different music, take a nice rest to get back on stage or chill out while enjoying some deep & slow psychedelic vibes.
The Festival Area
It was lovely to see the festival area all day & night alive. Full of people moving around from place to place. You could find numerous psychedelic shops with festival clothing like Mandala Clothing and Alitia, shops with handcrafted jewelry, posters, rolling gear by Tsiou Seeds, and many more to spend your time looking around or shopping during the day. A small psychedelic gallery was also adding more color and art to the festival area, and some nice posters by ΕτΚ were sharing a nice message, something that a true community needs.
The choices for food and drinks were extensive too. The festival provided quality food for any taste on a 24-hour basis. Puff pastry and fruit salads in the early hours, many different cooked dishes during the day, an adorable homemade pizza, and souvlaki at late hours. People also seemed to enjoy the variety of drink choices, like fresh juices and smoothies, drinks, cocktails and cold beer by Lola, 24-hour local tea by Druids/Teaballs, and quality coffee.
A big fire was also there at night to keep people warm, creating a nice spot for a break and some talking with festival friends. During the day, tents with tables and benches were providing a perfect shaded spot to drink your coffee or have your launch, and of course… Paradise. A fine addition to the area, a small “jungle” that was wiping out heat even at the hottest hours of the day.
More Facilities
Being a festival that takes care of its people, Psymbosium considered some more things, other than the stage and the festival area. There was fresh water provided and a shower in every camping area, a found & lost spot at the bar that was also helpful for people to find their lost stuff, and a team of volunteer emergency medics, always available to take action if needed.
Mutual Support With The Local Community
The event supported the local community in many ways. Almost every edible and drink was local, and many local brands were there offering their quality products. This support is definitely mutual, and the residents of Karya clearly stated it. Take a moment to read a few words by five lovely grandpas drinking their coffee under the thick shade of a plane tree, in Karya’s central square.
“We are glad for this festival. We love to see so many young people passing by. It brings life to our village and of course, boosts our local economy. The organizers did this well. They are family to the village. We hope they will keep running this “ntapa ntoupa” festival and Avlos festival keeping the village alive.”
*ntapa ntoupa: common greek idiom refering to electronic music
Other Impressions
Another lovely detail of the Psymbosium Festival 2022 was the big number of families with kids. It was inspiring to see children playing with each other and having fun in the festival area during the day. The presence of all ages in the area was adding one more component to the community feeling, and their pure aura was acting like a shield, wiping out any mood for argument or bad behavior.
This fact also proves that a psychedelic gathering like Psymbosium is a hospitable place for families and their kids, where they can both have fun and enjoy music, nature, and social interaction. Of course, there are several things to consider for the protection of your children, such as well-organized camping equipment, ear protection, and keeping an eye on your beloved little being as you always do.
As the festival is growing and more families trust it as an enjoyable and safe place to spend their vacation, it would be a nice addition to create an organized area for kids, where they will be able to meet each other, play, and create some art under the supervision of a professional. A new feature like this would upgrade the kids’ experience, would offer parents some more time, and would give families one more quality reason to visit Psymbosium.
Conclusions
All this puzzle of different fine elements makes Psymbosium Festival 2022 one of the top psychedelic gatherings in the Balkan region. Constantly growing, it offers much more than just a place to listen to music and dance. It is a gathering creating a community with people from all over the world sharing similar interests, problems, and desires, where they can easily meet with each other, share opinions and communicate, and dance with each other on the dancefloor.
We are glad for the support and would like to give a Big THANK YOU to the organizers of the festival for making it possible for all of us to gather again in nature, dancing to our favorite music with our brothers and sisters. We can’t wait for the next Edition! Keep up the good work!
