Maratus is the Dj name of Demetris Polycarpou. The name was inspired from the impressive peacock spiders of the genus Maratus, which perform remarkable dancing-like mating displays. For many years, he followed psytrance events and festivals as a listener, showing a particular interest on forestic nighttime psychedelic.

It was around 2013 when his passion for this music led him to start Djing, as well as organizing events with the local Cyprus team Antimatter Crew. He is currently a label Dj in Anarchic Freakuency Records and Azrama Tribe.
